GADAFFI MOSQUE
Built by the late Libyan President Col.Muammar Gadaffi,this is Ugandas largest mosque or the second largest mosque in Africa.This mosque can in one sitting have over 30000 muslims praying and their towe has 302 steps equivalent to a 13 floor building.

KASUBI TOMBS
The UNESCO World Heritage listed Kasubi tombs is of great IMPORTANCE TO THE Buganda kingdom as the burial place of its kings and royal family.The huge thatched roof palace was originally built in 11882 as the palace of Kabaka Mutesa 1 before being convertd into his tomb following his death two years later.
KATEREKE PRISON
Here,royal prisoners were starved in the prison ditch during the upheavals of 1888 to 1889.Kabaka Kalema killed 30 of his brothers and sisters here in 1889 in his quest to keep keep control of the throne.Its not much more than a deep circular trench, but its an evocative site and is worth the trip.
MENGO PALACE
It is here that the famous 1900 Agreement was signed between the Kabaka of Buganda and British Colonial officers establishing the Uganda Protectorate.It is also the former home of the king of Buganda Kabaka Mutesa11.
KABAKAS MAN MADE LAKE
Near the Mengo palace is the Kabakas lake,the biggest man made lake in the country.The lake was dug in 1880s on the orders of Kabaka Mwanga who wanted to link it to Munyonyo on the shores of Lake Victoria.Mwanga, a staunch fan of regatta,wanred to sail from Mengo to Munyonyo on his many hunting expeditions.
UGANDA MATYRS SHRINE NAMUGONGO
Located in Namugongo, this shrine marks the spot where Kabaka Mwanga 11 ordered the execution 22 catholics who refused to denounce their faith ,including church leader CHARLES Lwanga.The Namugongo shrine represents an African hut.

BULANGE ROYAL BUILDING
A great place to learn about the history and culture of the Buganda Kingdom.Guided tours take you inside the Parliament Building providing interesting stories and details about the 56 different clans.
Also here is the NANTAWETWE ROUND ABOUT where only the Kabaka of Buganda passes around it .Not even the President passes round it.
IDDI AMINS TORTURE CHAMBERS
Its here that horrific functions were taken under the rules of Iddi Amin.Iddi Amin built his torture chambers here ,which saw the murder of an estimated 300 people .Basically anyone stronger or smarter than Amin or anyone he thought ugly got tortured here.
BAHAI TEMPLE
Did you know that the Bahai faith is hinged on equality of both men and women all in the image of God.This is the only one of its kind on the African continent and definitely worth a visit.It also boasts of the best green space in the whole Kmpala.
